There are a number of different ways a copyediting career can manifest. The good thing about pursuing copyediting is that every business or corporation needs it, so it is an extremely flexible job in terms of exactly where you can work. For example, copyediting jobs can be found in:

• Book Publishing Houses (Penguin Random House, Scholastic, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, etc.)
• Magazines 
• Newspapers (The New York Times, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Washington Post, etc.)
• Literary Journals (The New Yorker, The Atlantic, etc.)
• Sales & Marketing fields
• Manufacturing jobs
• Government Contracting
• Law
• Medical or Scientific fields (if an editor is specialized)
